October 31

  Today we saw the last few instructional videos on your dystopian trailer projects. I handed out the project sheet and everyone got into groups to get their synopsis together.  Remember you must understand your Dystopian world and all the controls etc. before you write your  movie story.  Tomorrow you will be working on your story and script.

October 28

Today we looked at several video tutorials about how to plan and shoot a video.  You got into groups to start the dystopian movie trailer project.  Please have some story ideas ready for Monday.

October 27

Today we had people read bits of their Brazil paragraphs to the class and got some constructive criticism on them.  All writing should attempt to be clear and go from "point a to point b" in a straight line, so to speak.  It must pass the confusing or boring test too.  Please have rewritten good copies for tomorrow.

October 26

Today we discussed the last of the Brazil questions and start on a long paragraph.  You must pick 1 interpretation (question 9) and support it with evidence from the story.   No quiz tomorrow.

October 25

Today we watched the last part of the movie Brazil and discussed it a little.  Then people got into groups and answered some more questions and moved on to completing the study guide.  We discussed about 1/2 of the questions in class and will finish tomorrow.  Please make sure you have the study guide done but do not do the paragraph.

October 24

Today we continued watching Brazil.  We will finish it tomorrow, discuss it and begin a short writing assignment on the movie.

October 19

Today we watched a variety of film clips from Metropolis and Brazil and made notes about dystopian characteristics.  No other homework and no quiz tomorrow.!!

October 18

Today we marked part of the Short Story Unit Final Exam and then watched the 1984 Mac ad and analysed for dystopian characteristics.  Please finish that sheet for tomorrow.

Today we did our Short Story Unit Final Exam in class.   No other homework.

We had 1 Prezi presentation and 3 Connections project presentations today.  All were very different and interesting.  We will hear the rest tomorrow.  If you did not get the questions from Friday, here they are:

In what ways do the inventors of Mulitvac strive to make their society perfect?  Are they successful?  Why or why not?  about 150 words.   These questions refer to the story All the Troubles of the World.

October 6

Well, after a couple of days away, I am back!  Today we saw almost all of the Prezis from the class.  We will finish those tomorrow along with having a quiz (Thursday's delayed) and we will start the connections presentations as well.  Please finish reading All the Troubles of the World.

Today we had an extra period in the library to work on connections or the prezi.  You will  present your prezi tomorrow and connection will start on Wednesday (if all goes well).  This week's quiz will be a review of short story terms.
